Mystic Rufio Studio is the art practice of Matthew Oerton, a painter based around Tweed Heads and the Gold Coast.
Working mainly in gouache and watercolour, Matthew creates slow, colourful still lifes inspired by everyday abundance — fruit on tables, flowers in vases, warm interiors, coastal light and the small quiet moments that make a home feel alive.
His work is playful, nostalgic and a little bit wild. Each piece is painted by hand, often using bold colour, soft texture and imperfect detail to capture the feeling of a lived-in, creative life.
Mystic Rufio Studio offers original paintings, fine art prints and small artist-made objects for people who want their homes to feel warmer, stranger, softer and more full of colour.
